Von Rump, Carol Sue (nee Naes) 65, passed away after a brief illness on February 9, 2011 at Maryview Medical Center, Portsmouth, VA. Mrs. Von Rump enjoyed needle work, spending time with her granddaughters, reading, traveling, and camping. She was an active member of FCRV National Camping Organization. She was a graduate of St. Louis University and a retired Home Health Care Registered Nurse. She was an active member of her church and President of the St. Mary's Catholic Church Woman's Club. She is preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Burnell Naes of St. Louis.
Carol is survived by her husband David of 44 years; daughters Dana D'Amato and husband Mark of Richmond, Cynthia Jones and husband Richard of Brownhills, England, Deborah Jarman and husband Paul of Portsmouth; grandchildren Michaela D'Amato and Alexandra Jarman.
Services: The family will receive friends at Baker-Foster Funeral Home, 5685 Lee Farm Lane, Suffolk, VA 23435 from 3 È 5 p.m. Sunday, February 13, 2011. A funeral Mass will be held at the St. Mary of the Presentation Catholic Church, 202 South Broad St., Suffolk, VA, Monday, February 14, 2011 at 11 a.m. Interment will be held at the Albert G. Horton, Jr. Veteran Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Condolences may be registered at www.bakerfoster.com.
