Erin Rose Butler, 25, left this life too early July 26, 2011. Erin was a graduate of Old Dominion University. She received her B.S. in business administration Dec. 15, 2007. She also completed a post-baccalaureate licensure program in special education on Dec. 18, 2008. Erin loved learning and was a gifted educator. Her passion was working with children who had special needs. Erin was a special education teacher for Suffolk Public Schools Erin, had a great passion for life. She wrote poetry, played video games and watched movies. She was a fanatic for the Green Bay Packers and cross-stitching. Erin loved going to thrift stores and yard sales with her mom. Erin was a true "daddy's girl." She had a special place in her heart for her brothers and was the heart and soul of her "Nan." Erin's greatest love was her dog, "Poetry Leigh." Poe was Erin's constant companion.
Her family includes parents, Tracy and Greg Johnson, C.J. and Leigh Butler; brothers, Cole Justin Butler and wife Christine and Jacob Brent Johnson; grandparents, Shirley Butler, Kay Smith, Bruce and Sandra Johnson, Calvin and Pam Geiss, Col. John G. and Kay Lackey, and Jeanie M. Lackey; husband, Shawn Katherman; niece, Carly Madelyn; nephew Cole Jr.; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of other family, friends and colleagues.
