John Reid Laxton, 21, died unexpected on Sunday, June 3, 2012.

John was born in Norfolk, VA and was a 2009 Graduate of Nansemond River High School, Suffolk. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Papa- James L. Ligon and maternal grandparents, Donald and Julia Hawkins.

Survivors include his daughter, Winter Kristine Laxton and her mother Pauline Reeves; his father, John F. Laxton, II (Janet); his mother, Susan Hawkins; paternal grandmother, Virginia Ligon; paternal grandfather, John F. Laxton; maternal grandmother Betty James; four step-brothers, Anthony, Eric, Francis Palladino and Joel DiLucia; and many aunts, uncles, cousin and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at Baker-Foster Funeral Home, Bennett’s Creek Chapel, 5685 Lee Farm Lane, Suffolk, VA. A reception will follow at Faith Lutheran Church, 2730 Bridge Road, Suffolk. Condolences may be registered at www.bakerfoster.com.

Ginny we are so VERY SORRY to hear about John Reid! Our Love, Thoughts and Prayers are with you and your family at this time of sorrow. We met John Reid when ya'll would come to Texas. He was a funny, wonderful and joyfull boy! It is so tragic to lose him at such a young age. Again we are so deeply sorry for your loss.

Dear John R.Laxton,
I have shed tears for you and your family today. Know that you have touched our hearts. I live a few houses down from where you left us. I am sorry and have shed tears for you because I did not know you were there that night John, please know that if I did, I would have stopped at nothing and I would have done Everything in My Power to help you.

No one around here is upset with you John and we could care less about what the media says. I am personally, as well as the residents on Rainbow Road offer our deepest sympathies.

Dear Laxton Family,
I don't know any of you but I grew up in the driver area. I just recently lost an 18 yr old nephew and it most hard to lose someone that young or at any age. Remember the memories and speak of him often. Let time heal the pain. My condolences are with all of you.
