Louis A. Marrone, formerly of Huntington Station, N.Y., passed away Oct. 10, 2011 in his 84th year. Born Aug. 8, 1927 in Glen Cove, N.Y., he was a proud U.S. Marine and a member of the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Assembly No. 1166.
Lou is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Florence; his children, Angelo (Denise), Louis (Janice), and Barbara Leseye (John); devoted and cherished grandfather of Jenna (Jason), Christing (Steven), Kristen (John), Allison (Carmine), and John (Lorianne). He is also survived by three sisters and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at the Church of St. Therese, 4137 Portsmouth Blvd., Chesapeake. Entombment with U.S. Marine honors will follow in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. with a Chalice Ceremony by Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree at 7 p.m. at Baker-Foster Funeral Home, Bennett's Creek Chapel, 5685 Lee Farm Lane, Suffolk. The family would like to express its deepest thanks to all family and friends for their help and support during his final days. His caring ways and strong opinions will be deeply missed.
