Richard Lind Helliksen, 86, passed away Sept. 14, 2011.
He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Ester Helliksen.Mr. Helliksen was born in Cleveland, Ohio.
He is survived by his children, Ronald and Sten Helliksen, Sandra Conolly, and Cheryl Shaw; sister, Doris Koistinen; by 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at noon on Monday, Sept. 19, 2011, in Baker Foster Funeral Home, 5685 Lee Farm Lane, Suffolk, VA 23435, with burial at the Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011, at Baker-Foster Funeral Home, Bennett's Creek Chapel, 5685 Lee Farm Lane, Suffolk, Va. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Riverside Hospice, 500 J. Clyde Morris Boulevard, Newport News, VA 23601. Condolences may be registered at www.bakerfoster.com.
This is such a beautiful trtuibe to a wonderful, Godly man! He is definitely missed. Can't believe it has been 5 years already! It really is a comfort to know that we will be united with so many of our loved ones some day. Can't wait to see my mom!
